 AFM & AFM Ag Dressings

Active Fluid Management® Wound Contact Layer Dressings

The proprietary Active Fluid Management® technology pumps fluid in one direction - away from or toward a wound - depending on which side the dressing is placed on the wound. From wet, macerated to dry, scaly wound, AFM promotes a moist wound healing environment.

One Way Pumping Action

• Continuously removes excess exudate,
     bacteria and harmful toxins

  • Minimizes the risk of maceration
  • Protects healthy intact skin
  • May be used under compression,
     minimizes strikeback
  • Pumps moisture toward dry wounds

Fewer Dressing Changes

  • Change only the secondary dressing as
      required

  • Less wound bed disturbance
  • Significant cost savings

Patient Comfort

• Stays intact when exposed to exudate and
     upon removal

  • Conformable and easy to use on difficult to
     dress areas
  • Improved patient compliance

Silver Efficacy
  • 7 day antimicrobial protection*
  • Broad spectrum control against infection
     causing bacteria*
  • Begins inactivating pathogens within 30
     minutes*

Indicated for the management of particle thickness burns, incisions, skin grafts, donor sites, lacerations, abrasions, and Stage I-IV dermal ulcers (vascular, venous, pressure and diabetic).

• AFM dressings actively pump exudate, bacteria and harmful toxins away from the wound bed

• Pumping will not diminish over time

• Use of secondary dressings provide an inexpensive reservoir for exudate, bacteria and harmful toxins

•Apply with printed side away from wound

• Place secondary absorbent dressing on top of AFM layer

• Secure AFM layer and secondary dressing using standard methods

• Replace secondary dressing as needed without disturbing AFM layer

• AFM layer should be removed according to facility's wound care protocol

• AFM dressings can be used to deliver moisture to a dry, scaly wound

• Pumping will not diminish over time

• Moisture is pumped through the dressing toward the wound so that a moist wound bed can be maintained

• Pre-wet with water, saline or hydrogel and apply with printed side toward from wound

• Add moisture donating source on top of AFM layer

• Secure AFM layer and moisture donating source using standard methods

• Replace moisture donating source as needed
without disturbing AFM layer

• AFM layer should be removed according to facility's wound care protocol
